RealworldEDC is an electronic data capture solution that was designed to aid the process of collecting data during drug clinical trials. The solution offers a wide set of data capture methods as well as multiple forms that are used to capture and assess the status of patient that are undergoing the clinical trials.
The solution was not designed by us, but we have provided software development services for about 1 year, and pushed the platform to it's next level.
The solution consisted of a monolithic application that would use Spring Webflow to render pages and handle state transitions between screens.
Hibernate was used as a solution for object relational mapping
The database vendor that was used was Oracle. The hard part about the data architecture was that it had to be ODM protocol compliant.
