Automotive maintenance process orchestration system
- CUSTOMER -
Automatic is a startup that envisioned a product with an undisclosed name, aiming to create a unique and intuitive marketplace for everything ‘car maintenance’.
- CONCEPT -
From a conceptual standpoint, the goal was to manufacture a platform that would allow car owners to interact with service providers in the automotive industry in order to consume and exhaustive list of available and packaged services.
On the provider side, Automatic would allow a wide range of service providers such as car shops, tyre shops, car pickup providers or even insurance companies to enlist their services on the platform. Automatic’s innovative process algorithm would then optimise the service provider’s internal kitchen, granting them increased operational efficiency under strict, but efficient constraints.
On the car owner side, the experience of consuming maintenance services would be as simple as installing the app, selecting a list of services put forth by providers, and boom, Automatic would take care of everything in an optimal way.

- Challenge -
Technically speaking, the challenge was to collaborate in providing custom software development services for developing a multi-actor software system composed of a SPA and a mobile-hybrid application as clients that would consume a suite of scalable micro-services hosted on a cloud infrastructure.

- SOLUTION -
As a result, the project has been delivered on time and has been accepted by European Union allocated auditors. At present, the platform is currently running on it’s deserved market in order to collect feedback.

- TECHNICAL -
The system is a multi-actor system composed of a set of clients applications (web, Android and iOS) that serve actors such as service provider administrators, consultants, accountants, productive personnel (mechanics) and car owners. These applications consume a suite of distributed and scalable microservice based APIs in order to offer a fully aggregated experience.

From requirement elaboration, to UX design, architecture, development, testing and deployment, the project was brought up by a team of 14 people working tirelessly for a period of 8 months in order to meet a very aggressive deadline.
